Reconstruction and upgrading of the hotel Yugoslavia, Belgrade

Hotel “Jugoslavija” was built according to the revised project of architect Lavoslav Horvat in 1969 (the first prize was awarded to the architects of the Zagreb school of modern Mladen Kauzlarić, Lavoslav Horvat and Kazimir Ostrogović, 1947). Architects Milorad Pantović, Vladeta Maksimović and academician, professor Ivan Antić, prominent artists and creators also took part in the project.
“The original architecture of the Hotel Yugoslavia can be labeled as a visionary and always modern, which made it extremely important for us to preserve not only the original shape but also the original idea of the project and in this way we respect the very rigorous conditions of protection issued by the Institute for Protection cultural monuments of the city of Belgrade. Of course, it was necessary to make a number of adjustments to the needs of a modern five-star hotel user. Also, the accompanying retail and residential center, the new Hotel Yugoslavia will be maximally incorporated into the intensive way of life of New Belgrade, which slowly turns into the most important business center of the region”, says Goran Vojvodić, the author of the project of reconstruction of the Hotel Yugoslavia
