The main purpose of the newly designed complex is public facilities – sports and recreation, intended for all ages of the population. The building is designed as a free-standing building within the boundaries defined by the construction line, basic dimensions 59x43m, compact volume underground, basement floor level. In the above-ground part, the floor levels are the ground floor and the gallery, which are directly connected to the basement and basement floors by stair communications, as well as a passenger elevator and platform for the people with disabilities. The concept of the building is green – roof, solar panels and green vertical walls.
The ground floor of the building includes the following facilities: entrance hall, info desk, ticket office, sales area with associated storage area, multifunctional hall measuring 23.2 x 42.2 m intended for team sports with a ball – basketball, handball, volleyball and indoor football, with the possibility installation of telescopic tribunes (three fixed rows of tribunes were formed in the gallery) and utility room, changing rooms, showers and a sanitary block for users of all facilities within the complex with associated service and auxiliary areas, gym, infirmary. On the gallery level, within the monovolume of the hall building, and above the changing rooms, the following facilities are provided: a multifunctional hall measuring 25.0 x 16.5m intended for martial arts (karate, judo, aikido, taekwondo), a multifunctional hall measuring 17.0 x 16.5m intended for recreational and sports activities (aerobics, pilates, gymnastics) with a utility room and rooms for trainers, a room for cardio programs measuring 8.0 x 8.0m and a toilet. The connections of the listed contents with the corresponding dressing rooms on the ground floor level are achieved by an internal staircase, whereby the rule of “dirty” and “clean” communication is respected.
Facade coverings and finishes are defined according to the position on the building, and most of them are designed for the composite wind type of the facade. On the building of the multifunctional hall, the dominant material is profiled facade sheet metal on an adequate substructure in combination with cladding made of prefabricated natural concrete in a smooth formwork (in the base part) or as a replacement material based on fiber cement boards, also on an adequate substructure. Parts of the multi-functional hall, as well as part of the entrance hall – shops and administration in the gallery are closed with glazed elements of the structural facade in combination with profiled panels. Part of the changing rooms oriented towards the pool, on the facade wall of which external showers are planned, are designed in large-format granite ceramics. A part of the colonnade with a canopy, in the contact zone with Južni boulevard, is provided in a combination of “Alukobond” cladding (pillars and horizontal elements) and movable vertical aluminum blinds-brisoleys.
